INDIAN FRY BREAD

3C. GOLD MEDAL ALL PURPOSE FLOUR

2 TBS. BAKING POWDER

2 PKG. RED STAR ACTIVE DRY YEAST

1-2 C. OF VERY WARM WATER, NOT HOT.

1/2-1 C. OF SUGAR

1 tsp. Table salt

3 c. of Crisco Oil

First, you'll need to heat your Crisco Oil over a med-low heat it should be hot enough to cook fry bread dough. If you over heat

your oil it will not be throughly fried, and turn out gooey.

You'll need one lg. mixing bowl, add your flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt and gently mix, set aside. Next, take a 2 c. measuring cup, and add your water and active dry yeast and throughly stir. Lastly, take a fork, and pour your dry yeast over the flour and gently mix it will resemble course corn meal. Next, take some extra warm water to form your dough, kneed the dough gently, form a ball and flour to prevent to much stickyness. Take your fry bread dough and shape into balls and flatten the balls with the palm of your hand and continue to flour as you go along. If oil is not completly hot, cover your dough with a hot paper towel to encourage rising action. Finally, fry bread until golden brown.

You may place each piece of fried bread over paper towels and cover until ready to eat.
